Amnesty International condemns in the French Veil Ban Proposed

London - Amnesty International condemned the proposal of French legislators to ban the use of face coverings in public spaces. The proposal was considered to violate the rights of freedom of expression and religion.
Human rights observer group headquartered in London, has written to all members of the French parliament. They urged the parliament to reject a bill that would ban the veil and the like.
"Comprehensive ban the use of face coverings violates the rights of freedom of expression and religion for a woman wearing a Burka and keberagamaannya niqab as an expression of identity," said John Dalhuisen, experts from Amnesty about discrimination in Europe, as reported by AFP on Tuesday (07/13/2010).
As is known, from the French National Assembly of 577 seats, 335 of whom chose to use a total ban on face coverings. BILL ban face coverings that will be submitted to the Senate in September.
"As a general rule, the right to freedom of religion and expression and letting all the people to freely choose what is the They will wear or not wear," he said.
John said the ban could mean limiting those who wear full face coverings to be in the house alone, without being able to work.
"These rights can not be restricted just because some classes, or even the majority, found the form of clothing inappropriate or offensive," he added.
